About Legacy Dance

Meet Gemma, Legacy Dance’s Director

Dance has been a huge part of my life as long as I can remember. I am so thankful I was given the opportunity dance, and am so grateful for the life skills it has taught me, creativity it inspired and genuine joy for dance I will always have.

From school I continued my dance training in Wellington completing a Diploma in Performing Arts and my NZAMD, and AJDA exams to an advanced level. While in Wellington I choreographed half time entertainment for the All Blacks, Rugby Sevens and the International Arts Festival. I directed 3 contemporary dance shows in the fringe festival and choreographed the High School Musical, Peter Pan & Annie.

I taught Jazz to pre schoolers through to advanced level for over 10 years and then added in Hip Hop where I have choreographed and coached numerous teams to an international level, as well as running a Hip Hop Dance studio for 5 years with over 250 dancers at its peak.

I am certified UDO syllabus examiner and also run dance events throughout NZ - Impact Dance Experience and Hip Hop Unite.

I am a Mum to 2 awesome boys (Tyler 10, and Casey 5) and live locally in Richmond with my Husband Adrian and the boys.

I look forward to meeting you and your dancer and watching their dance journey develop or continue here at Legacy Dance.
